Part 4 - (PvP) Warlock VS Summoner

Created by Yeon P, it is a video guide on Warlock vs Summoner. In my opinion, summoners are like amumu in league of legends they look like cute and not too dangerous and when you face them they clean the floor with your corps in PvP.

Some players think that after playing the warlock in the NA version, it is more or less a badass version of Summoner, being stronger, faster, and more punishing than their familiar in every position except for duration, however, just like with the cat being able to be revived, the thrall can be resummoned. They think that the NA warlock is pre-nerf though as abilities like dragoncall have let them one hit pretty much every single boss all the way to Cinderlands. The exceptions being the fatty in Blackram Narrow.

It's about time there is a class that can actually play fair against a summoner. I mean To me Summoner 1v1 was not a 1v1. With the cat being able to take more damage and dish out stuns as well as shift places with the player, I always found it was more like 1v2. In fact, that is what it is honestly. At least warlock is meant to be its counter class. For every class needs to have a counter class or else the game is just unbalanced. What do you guys think?

guide 1) - Lyn Warlock Build and Combo Guide

Created by Ashley Ng, he put on a simple guide for Lyn Warlock. After a week of playing, the basic structure combo can be used on both PvP/PvE. If you are using the Death Ring "4" skill attack. ( The creator is using a level 10 weapon so he can fight longer on this video to show you all the examples.)

Please practice a lot on Basic Structure. You can start the Combo using "2" Chain lock follow by "3" spirit circle. Then basic structure shown in video.

Or for PvP start with "X" knockdown follow by "F" spirit pierce than Basic Structure.

Please note that for PvP, most enemy after knock down, they will use 1 escape. If you use "F" at that moment u will waste it. You have 4 seconds to use it so it's a lot of time... wait for the enemy to use its escape then u use "F" skill, follow by the Basic Structure. Hope this helps. Soulburn Rotation:

Why go Arcana (0.3 second recharge time over 3-second leech extension)?

"Better for PvP - more consistent DPS - with changes to wingstorm leech comes up fast enough where the extra 3 seconds isn't as needed - with gunner reset too the gap between badges becomes greater. I think the bis was only under certain conditions - fights with certain duration etc - the other badge is bis in just about every other scenario - toi, 6s and any fight that has 3 mins dura"

Created by XG, I really hope this video helps you make the best decision for yourself. Notes (personal opinions):

I would go Legacy if your ping/fps/RMB 4 ratios are proper and stable. Your leech and soulburn uptimes should almost be near perfect aligning with each other.

If your ping is adequate/slightly high, go Limitless. It'll be easier to work with if you held back due to ping. Though obviously, you won't be doing as much damage if you're held back, the Glory effect can somewhat cover for the missed DPS (and obviously, not all of it though).

guide 1) - Introductory Frost Warlock Build and DPS Rotation

Created by EvilDoUsHarm, it is a quick video detailing the combos and rotations a frost warlock should know. Regarding this video, one player pointed out some things if you want to maximize DPS:

1. "Don't use rupture during leech or soulburn. You lose out on DPS by wasting time casting the rupture animation. Rupture should only be used for focus recovery here and there."

2. "Use the additional damage soul shackle. This is for a number of reasons. First of all, you don't mess up any boss positioning or boss mechs (eg acrimor jump, he gets a 10-second unstoppable buff where he can't be rooted again). Secondly, it has far more up time. This is especially useful if you have legendary bracelet as you need the 9-second tiger bracelet buff after using soul shackle. The cooldown on additional damage shackle is reduced by other abilities."

3."Your main DPS rotation from the start should not be imprisoned because of soul effect. Using imprison wastes about half of your would effect and reduces your DPS. Instead, you should summon thrall, start casting Dragoncall, and then shackle, leech, SB. During SB, hold down RMB and spam.”

4."Use your shackle every time it's off cooldown. After sb and if the leech is still on cooldown, use imprison and then again 4/RmB. No ruptures during this period too except for focus recovery."

5. "For every call you hit, you should be able to hit 3 bombardments during the 4-second target debuff. This is reliant on ping but is crucial to maximizing DPS."

"Use additional damage on thrall instead of airborne for PvE unless it's for a mech. Melees can't hit targets when they're in the air so if you aerial them when not needed, they lose DPS."
